Summer Craft: Soap Clouds!

Get your kids into the summer spirit with fun summer arts and crafts! One of the best parts of having summer activities is that the weather is warm and you can send messy projects outside. Summer arts and crafts are not just about being creative—they are also about getting your kids away from the television and getting them to run around and play outside. Here is a fun activity that I know your kids will enjoy—it’s called ‘Soap Clouds’. The best part about this activity? All you really need is a bar of Ivory soap. Take a look!

1. Place a piece of waxed paper, parchment, plastic wrap, or paper towel in your microwave. Then place
your bar of ivory soap on top of the paper in the microwave.

2. Start your microwave for a couple of minutes on high power, and see what happens. The soap starts growing! Sometimes the soap will even form into a really big cloud. Just make sure not to smash it, or you will get some dust everywhere.

3. Now place your giant blob of dried soap in either a bowl or an electric beater. Add a a bit of warm water and start mixing until it comes together.

4. Once the mix is ready, you can let your kids press it into cookie cutters. After the soaps are molded, let them dry and this is what they should look like!

Now go have some fun with your kids. Make this summer one you and your kids will enjoy!
